7-Chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C6H4ClN. It is an aromatic heterocycle and contains a pyridine ring fused to a benzene ring. The proton magnetic resonance spectrum of 7-chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine displays two peaks at δ H 8.5 and δ H 8.8 that correspond to the two tautomeric forms of this compound. The laboratory synthesis of 7-chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine requires bromoacetaldehyde as starting material.
