4-Chloro-1-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine is a ketone with the systematic name of 1,2,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidin-4(1H)-one. It is a pyrimidine derivative that has been shown to inhibit acetaminophen (APAP) induced hepatotoxicity in mice by inhibiting the formation of reactive oxygen species. 4-Chloro-1-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine also inhibits cyclopentanone and cyclohexanone oxidations in vitro. This substance has also been shown to be an inhibitor of amide hydrolysis and acetophenone oxidation.
