7-Chloro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine is a boronic acid that has potent inhibitory activity against cancer cells. It is used in the Suzuki coupling reaction as a ligand to form a 6-azaindole. 7-Chloro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine can be used in the optimization of the cutaneous delivery of anticancer agents. It also inhibits histone deacetylase, which is an enzyme that modifies chromatin and regulates gene expression. 7-Chloro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine has been shown to have potent anticancer activity and can be used for treating various cancers such as breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer.
