Product Information
- 7-Chloro[1,3]thiazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidine
- Thiazolo[5,4-D]Pyrimidine, 7-Chloro-
- 7-Chlorothiazole[5,4-d]pyrimidine
7-chlorothiazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidine is an alkaline hydrolysis product of chlorothiazide. It is a potent and selective TRPV1 antagonist that inhibits the release of proinflammatory cytokines from sensory neurons and is used to treat pain caused by inflammation. 7-chlorothiazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidine has been shown to inhibit the production of formylated proteins in neurons in vitro. 7-chlorothiazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidine also inhibits the activity of carbonic anhydrase II, which converts carbon dioxide into bicarbonate ions in order to maintain pH homeostasis. This drug was found to have no effect on thermal hyperalgesia in rats when administered orally at doses up to 250 mg/kg.
