Description

6-Chloro-7-azaindole is a boronic acid that has been used in control experiments to study the mechanism of hepatitis. This compound binds to factor receptor and prevents the growth of cells. 6-Chloro-7-azaindole has been shown to inhibit the production of virus and reduce the replication of replicons. It also inhibits the activities of various growth factors, including hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2), and epidermal growth factor (EGF). 6-Chloro-7-azaindole has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation by increasing levels of caspase 3, an enzyme that plays a role in apoptosis.
