Product Information
6-Chloro-4-methoxynicotinonitrile is a nitrile that is used to synthesize amines. It can be made by the Buchwald reaction between a chlorinated aniline and a pyridine. This reaction can be carried out in two steps: first, the aniline reacts with the pyridine to form a diazonium salt, which is subsequently reacted with hydrogen chloride to form the desired nitrile. 6-Chloro-4-methoxynicotinonitrile has been used for the synthesis of various aromatic amines, such as 4-(pyridin-2-yl)aniline and 4-(pyridin-3-yl)aniline.
