5-Chloropentanenitrile is a chemical compound that is used in wastewater treatment. 5-Chloropentanenitrile reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce an acylation product, which is then converted to a phosphodiesterase inhibitor by the action of monodansylcadaverine.
