Description:
4-Chlorobenzo[d]thiazole is a furan-containing molecule that has been shown to have antitrypanosomal activity in vitro. The nitro group on the molecule may be responsible for its trypanocidal activity, since it can form reactive oxygen species. 4-Chlorobenzo[d]thiazole also has the ability to kill epimastigotes in vitro and exhibits death of cells in culture with low doses. This molecule is effective against trypanosomes and may be used as an antitrypanosomal agent.
