Description

Cloprostenolsodium is a synthetic prostaglandin analog and is used in veterinary medicine to induce ovulation. Cloprostenol, the active form of cloprostenolsodium, induces follicular growth by acting on the granulosa cells. It also has significant interactions with estradiol benzoate and estradiol valerate, which may lead to increased fertility rates. Cloprostenolsodium has been shown to stimulate the release of fatty acids from adipocytes, which may have an effect on ovarian activity. This drug has been shown to be effective in inducing ovulation in rats and rabbits when given as an injection solution.
