Description

D-(+)-Camphor-10-sulfonic acid sodium salt is a racemic mixture of the two enantiomers, (+) and (-), that are ionic and soluble in water. The chemical stability of this compound is ensured by its sulphonic group. This product has been shown to be efficient in chromatographic separations at pH levels between 3 and 8. It has also been shown to be a suitable solvent for the determination of parameters such as alkalinity, hardness, and total organic carbon (TOC) in water samples. D-(+)-Camphor-10-sulfonic acid sodium salt is used as an adsorbent with aminophylline or amino compounds as the adsorbate. The adsorption mechanism may involve hydrophobic interactions or hydrogen bonding.
