Product Information

Name:
2-Chloro-6-methoxyphenylboronicacid
Synonyms:
  • boronic acid, B-(2-chloro-6-methoxyphenyl)-
  • 2-Chloro-6-methoxyphenylboronic acid
Description:

2-Chloro-6-methoxyphenylboronic acid is a boron compound that can be used in the Suzuki cross-coupling reaction. This process uses palladium as a catalyst, which facilitates the coupling of an organic halide with an organometallic reagent (e.g., boronate ester) in the presence of base. 2-Chloro-6-methoxyphenylboronic acid can be used in regioselective synthesis to provide an atom of chloro or hydroxy substituents at positions ortho to the phenyl group. The use of 2-chloro-6-methoxyphenylboronic acid has been shown to be effective for biomolecular applications such as DNA dependent protein kinases and intramolecular reactions. Irradiation with UV light can also lead to functionalized benzene derivatives.
