Description:
Cyclopentane-1,1-diyldimethanol is an organic solvent that is used in a variety of industrial applications. It has a low viscosity, which makes it useful for thin coatings and other applications where high viscosity solvents are undesirable. Cyclopentane-1,1-diyldimethanol can be used as the monomer for polymers that have functional groups such as carboxylic acid or aromatic hydrocarbon. The methyl glycosides in this solvent are responsible for its optical properties. This solvent is also used to synthesize polycarboxylic acid, which is a type of polymer with many alicyclic and lipase molecules.
