2-Chloro-3-hydroxy-4-quinolinecarboxylicacid (2CHQ) is a quinoline carboxylic acid. It is a cyclic peptide that has antitumoral activity. 2CHQ binds to DNA and inhibits the synthesis of RNA and protein, leading to cell death by apoptosis. 2CHQ also binds to hydroxyl groups in peptides, which may lead to new therapeutics for cancer treatment.
