Description:
2-Chloro-4-pyridin-3-yl-pyrimidine is a pyridine that can be synthesized by the Suzuki reaction. This compound is a reagent for the synthesis of imatinib and has been shown to have strong nucleophilic properties. 2CPP is also an excellent corrosion inhibitor that has been used to protect steel at high temperatures, such as in oxychloride catalytic converters. 2CPP may react with cyanamide or phosphorus oxychloride to produce toxic hydrogen cyanide gas.
