Description:
2-(4-Chlorophenyl)-2-cyanoacetaldehyde is a potent inhibitor of the cytochrome P450 enzyme, CYP2A6. It was found to be an inhibitor of CYP2A6 in human liver microsomes and has been shown to inhibit the metabolism of nicotine. 2-(4-Chlorophenyl)-2-cyanoacetaldehyde is a novel lead compound for the treatment of nicotine addiction in humans.
