Product Information
- 5-(2-chlorophenyl)-2H-tetrazole
5-(2-Chlorophenyl)-1H-tetrazole is a heterocyclic compound, which is formed by the trimerization of two molecules of 2-chlorobenzaldehyde. It has been shown to be a potent insecticide and exhibits anisotropy. Tetrazole derivatives are active against insects and have been used as pesticides in agriculture. The insect toxicity of 5-(2-chlorophenyl)-1H-tetrazole can be attributed to the alkylation of the protein with chlorinated aromatic compounds, which inhibits protein synthesis. The polyhedra that form in this molecule are due to the euclidean geometry, and its quadrilateral shape is due to anisotropies. 5-(2-Chlorophenyl)-1H-tetrazole also has spirocyclic properties, which result from its ability to form nanocages with polyhedral symmetry. This heterocyclic compound also has a close
