Product Information
- (5-Chloropyridine)-2-Carboxylic acid ethyl ester
- ETHYL 5-CHLOROPYRIDINE-2-CARBOXYLATE
5-Chloropyridine-2-carboxylic acid ethylester is a triazole derivative that functions as an inhibitor of eosinophils. It is used in the treatment of allergic reactions. 5-Chloropyridine-2-carboxylic acid ethylester has been shown to inhibit the release of histamine from eosinophils, which may be due to its ability to inhibit phospholipase A2 by binding to the enzyme's active site. This drug also inhibits the release of leukotrienes and prostaglandins from human lung cells. 5-Chloropyridine-2-carboxylic acid ethylester is a member of a class of drugs called substituted phenoxy acetic acids. The substitution on the phenoxy ring includes one or more alkyl groups, such as methyl, methoxy, and ethyl groups.
