Description:

4-Chloro-2-iodo-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine is a functionalized compound that can be used as a catalyst system. It is prepared by reacting an arylboronic acid with 2,4,6-trichlorobenzene dicarbonitrile in the presence of a palladium chloride catalyst. This reaction proceeds via the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of the terminal alkynes to the chloro group on the aromatic ring. 4-Chloro-2-iodo-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine has been shown to be effective for catalyzing terminal alkynes and alkynes with yields greater than 95%.
