Product Information
- 2-Chloro-4,6-Dimethylpyridine-3-Carboxamide
2-Chloro-4,6-dimethylnicotinamide (2C6MDN) is a coumarin derivative that can be synthesized by cleavage of the amide bond in 2-chloro-4,6-dimethoxybenzamide. It is used as a photolysis trigger in many organic transformations. 2C6MDN has been shown to undergo phototriggering of allylic substitution and photocleavage reactions by light with wavelengths between 350 and 450 nm. This compound also has an isocyanate group that reacts with amines to form urethanes. The coumarins present in this compound are photolabile, which means that they degrade when exposed to UV radiation.
