3-Carboxy-4-hydroxy-6-methoxyquinoline is a tetrahydroquinoline derivative that has been synthesized to explore the relationship between the structure of serotonin and its activity. 3-Carboxy-4-hydroxy-6-methoxyquinoline has been shown to have affinity for the 5HT1A receptor, which is involved in serotonin neurotransmission. It also has cyclization properties, which may be due to a lead structure that is similar to that of serotonin. This compound was synthesized in Australia by Diethyl.
