4-Chloro-2-nitroacetanilide is a crystallised, impure surfactant. It has been found to be an effective stabiliser for metastable crystals and has also been used as an additive in advances and modifications of other surfactants. The isomers of 4-chloro-2-nitroacetanilide are 4-chloro-2,6-dinitroacetanilide, 2,4,6-trichloroacetanilide and 2,4,6-trinitroacetanilide. The chlorine atom can be substituted with a hexane molecule to form the particle form. This particle can be synthesised by following a stepwise process.
