Product Information
4-Chloro-benzamidine is a trypsin inhibitor. It inhibits the proteolytic activity of trypsin and other serine proteases by binding to the active site. The energy released during the reaction is used to form a covalent bond between the inhibitor and the enzyme, resulting in irreversible inhibition. 4-Chloro-benzamidine has been shown experimentally to have an inhibitory effect on benzene metabolism in rats, which may be due to its deficiency of this vitamin or its ability to bind with benzene molecules. In addition, 4-chlorobenzamide has been shown to inhibit amination reactions catalyzed by enzymes such as α-aminoadipic acid synthase and glutamate dehydrogenase.
