5-Chloro-1H-benzo[d][1,3]oxazine-2,4-dione is an affinity ligand that has been shown to bind to the 5HT4 receptor. This type of receptor is found in the central nervous system and is involved in the regulation of appetite and satiety. The introduction of this compound has been shown to increase appetite in rats. The affinity and specificity values for this compound were determined using a number of different assays. 5-Chloro-1H-benzo[d][1,3]oxazine-2,4-dione has also been shown to have quinoline derivatives that are active against topoisomerase enzyme activity. These compounds have chlorine atoms with redox potentials that make them good candidates as anti-cancer drugs.
