Description:
2-Chloro-5-iodopyridine-3-carbonitrile is a synthetic compound that inhibits the inflammatory response. It has been shown to reduce the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and TNFα in vitro, which may be due to its inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX). 2-Chloro-5-iodopyridine-3-carbonitrile also has cytotoxic effects on cells in culture. This drug binds to amines and heteroaromatic compounds, including pyridines, which are structural analogues of 2CIPC.
