4-Chlorophthalimide is a chemical compound that is used as a reagent in the synthesis of other compounds. It has been used to synthesize carbonyl groups, phthalic acid, and hydrated zinc powder. 4-Chlorophthalimide can also be used as an inhibitor for oxidase enzymes. 4-Chlorophthalimide is a ligand that binds to copper (Cu) ions and inhibits the activity of copper complexes with some substrates such as magnesium and hydrochloric acid. In addition, 4-chlorophthalimide can be used to inhibit bacterial growth at low temperatures.
