Description:
4-Chloro-5-iodo-6-methylpyrimidin-2-amine is a terminal alkynylating agent that has been used in the synthesis of pyrimidines. This reagent can catalyze the regioselective synthesis of terminal alkynes and their conversion to terminal alkynes by means of copper catalysis. It can also be used in the synthesis of some substituted pyrimidines. 4CIAP has been shown to yield high yields of regioselectively synthesized terminal alkynes with good regioselectivity.
