Description:
2-Chloro-4-morpholinothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine-6-carbaldehyde is a pyridine that is used in the treatment of human heart and nervous system disorders. It has been shown to be useful in the treatment of cardiac and dihedral disorders. The drug also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for the treatment of various types of musculoskeletal disorders, such as arthritis. 2CMTPA is a prodrug that is metabolized into 2-(chloromethyl)thiophene-4(1H)-one (2CMTO) by esterases or glucuronidases. This metabolite binds to calcium ions and inhibits the release of neurotransmitters from nerve cells in the brain, leading to an anti-depressive effect. This drug also acts on benzene rings by forming hydrogen bonds with them.
