Product Information

Name:
3-(4-(Chlorosulfonyl)phenyl)propanoic acid
Synonyms:
  • 3-[4-(Chlorosulfonyl)Phenyl]Propanoic Acid
Description:

3-(4-(Chlorosulfonyl)phenyl)propanoic acid (CSPA) is a functional theory that is used to describe the coordination of water molecules in micelles. CSPA has been shown to be able to mimic the properties of water, including its magnetic and hydrogen-bonding properties, as well as its ability to form stable complexes with metal ions such as lanthanides. The structure of CSPA is envisaged as a molecule with an acid moiety and two chloride anions at opposite ends, which are stabilized by the coordinated water molecules. This structural arrangement contributes to the high acidity of CSPA and has been shown to be responsible for its antibacterial activity.
