4'-Chloro-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-amine is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C14H9ClN. It has acidic properties and reacts with bases to form salts. 4'-Chloro-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-amine can be used as a reagent for titration, volumetric, or measurement. It also reacts with trioxide to make an orange-red solution that is stable and can be used as a reagent for magnesium or fluoride ions. The filtrate of this reaction contains phosphate ions and sodium nitrite, which are oxidizing agents. Nitrite ion is required for the formation of NO2 radicals in the presence of peroxides that are used in the production of nitrocellulose film.
