Description:
2-Chloropropane is a chemical compound that is used as a solvent. In the presence of copper chloride, sodium carbonate and hydrochloric acid, 2-chloropropane can be converted to trifluoroacetic acid and monosodium salt. The reaction mechanism is nucleophilic substitution. This reaction proceeds by way of transfer reactions. 2-Chloropropane has kinetic data, which can be obtained from FTIR spectroscopy. Kinetic energy is also observed in this reaction mechanism.
