4-Chloro-2-nitrophenol is a chemical substance that is used as an industrial solvent. The reaction between 4-chloro-2-nitrophenol and hydrogen is catalyzed by metal ions such as iron or copper ions. This reaction has been shown to be kinetically controlled by intramolecular hydrogen bonding at the 2 position on the phenolic ring.
