Creatine HCl is a chemical compound that is found in the human body and is used as a dietary supplement. It can be synthesized from amino acids, such as glycine, arginine, and methionine. Creatine HCl is an acid salt of creatine and hydrochloric acid. Creatine HCl has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the production of inflammatory compounds, such as prostaglandin E2, leukotrienes B4, and nitric oxide. This property may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis through the suppression of phosphorylation of protein kinase C (PKC) and activation of PKC-βII.
