Product Information

Name:
2-Chlorobenzyl isocyanate
Synonyms:
  • Benzene, 1-Chloro-2-(Isocyanatomethyl)-
Description:

2-Chlorobenzyl isocyanate (2-CBI) is a potent inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α. It interacts with the TNF receptor and prevents it from binding to the TNF ligand, thereby preventing the activation of the TNF signaling pathway. 2-CBI has also been shown to inhibit intramolecular hydrogen bonding in lipopolysaccharide, which prevents its binding to cell receptors. This drug may be useful in the treatment of osteoarthritis and other diseases that are associated with inflammation.
