Product Information

Name:
Chloropyrazine carboxamide
Description:

Chloropyrazine carboxamide is a sodium channel blocker that inhibits the activity of voltage-gated sodium channels. It is used as an antihypertensive agent, and has been shown to reduce blood pressure by blocking the uptake of sodium ions into cells. Chloropyrazine carboxamide can also be used for the treatment of seizures, as it blocks calcium ion channels in nerve cells. This drug may have other therapeutic uses such as treating epilepsy, or in the treatment of kidney stones. Chloropyrazine carboxamide blocks chloride ion efflux from cells and prevents depolarization, which leads to reduced blood pressure. This drug binds to chemical species with amide groups, such as disodium edetate and carboxy methyl cellulose.
