Cyclopropylboronic acid MIDA ester (CBA) is a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent that targets immune-related diseases. It is an anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the production of cytokines and mediators of inflammation such as IL-1, IL-6, and TNFα. CBA also has been shown to inhibit kinases such as protein kinase C, extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2, and mitogen-activated protein kinase 1/2. CBA has been shown to have beneficial effects in animal models of autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, inflammatory diseases, and nervous system disorders.
