Product Information

Name:
2-CarboMethoxybenzylaMine
Description:

2-CarboMethoxybenzylaMine is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to 2-carboxybenzylmandelic acid. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of the human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) and is effective against cancer cells with a p53 mutation. The drug also inhibits phosphorylation by inhibiting the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to serine, which disrupts the second order rate constant of phosphorylation. 2-CarboMethoxybenzylaMine binds nucleophilically to carboxylic acids such as chloride, benzoate, or phenol. It can also react with amines such as gabapentin.
