It has been shown to be highly resistant to degradation and is an insecticide with insect resistance properties. EMN is a metabolite of nitenpyram and exhibits synergic effects with other pesticides such as glycol ethers and surface methodology. EMN has been shown to have enzyme activities that detoxify the insecticide, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of detoxification enzymes.
