Description

Cesium hydroxide is a chemical substance with the formula CsOH. It is a white solid that is soluble in water, alcohol, and ether. Cesium hydroxide has been used as an antiseptic and disinfectant due to its high pH and alkalinity, which results in a low bacterial count on surfaces. Cesium hydroxide has been shown to be effective against Group P2 bacteria (e.g., Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica). This substance has also been shown to have an antibacterial efficacy against Group D1 bacteria (e.g., Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and Group D3 bacteria (e.g., Staphylococcus aureus).
