Description:

Clitocine is a chiral compound that has been shown to have cytostatic effects. It inhibits tumor growth by suppressing the synthesis of adenosine kinase and the suppressor genes that are activated in response to tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL). Clitocine is also an inhibitor of mitochondrial pathways, which may contribute to its antitumor activity. Clitocine is a natural product derived from Ganoderma lucidum, and has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in cervical cancer cells at low concentrations. Clitocine controls cancer by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA, RNA, protein, and lipid.
