5-Chloro-2,4-dinitrotoluene is an organic compound that can be used as a monomer in the production of polyurethanes. It is a yellow solid with a molecular weight of 125.14 g/mol and a melting point of 197°C. 5-Chloro-2,4-dinitrotoluene has been studied for its use in electrochemical sensors and isotherms. Impedimetric studies have also shown that it can be used as an analyte for imprinting polymer films. Molecular imprinting has been shown to be able to transfer information from one material to another, which may be useful in the development of transducers for chemical sensing devices.
