Description

3-tert-butyl-5-Chloro-6-(hydroxymethyl)-1H-pyrimidine-2,4-dione is a metabolite of the herbicide Metribuzin. It is an inhibitor of β-glucosidase and has been shown to be a potent herbicide. 3-tert-butyl 5 Chloro 6 (hydroxymethyl) 1H pyrimidine 2,4 dione is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in methanol and acetone. The compound was first identified in leaves of Cannabis sativa L. and subsequent studies have shown it to be present in extracts from this plant. This compound has also been found in extracts from other plants such as Fistulosa lancea (L.) Opiz, which is commonly known as "Spanish moss".
