Description:

Cyclododecene is a cyclic dodecene that is used as an intermediate in the production of metal carbonyls. Cyclododecene reacts with 4-chlorobenzaldehyde oxime to form fatty acids and calcium carbonate, which are reaction intermediates. Cyclododecene can also react with chloride to form genotoxic products, but the formation rate is low. The genotoxic effects of cyclododecene are likely due to its reaction with chloride. This compound has been shown to participate in metathesis reactions with potassium hydroxide and zinc oxide, forming kinetic data for both reactions.
