Creatol is a reactive pharmaceutical drug that is used for the diagnosis of cancerous tissues. Creatol reacts with DNA in the presence of light to form an intramolecular hydrogen, which can be detected by measuring fluorescence. Creatol becomes a fluorescent molecule after reacting with DNA and emits light of a specific wavelength when excited with ultraviolet light. The intensity of this fluorescence depends on the amount of creatol present in the sample, which can be measured by spectroscopy. Creatol has been shown to help detect cancerous tissues in rats by examining their liver microsomes and glomerular filtration rates. It has also been shown to provide information about mitochondrial membrane potential and disease activity in humans who have not yet received any treatment. Creatol could be used as a marker for cancerous cells, as well as a biomarker for disease activity and mitochondrial membrane potential
