Chlorodimethyl(2,3,4,5-tetramethyl-2,4-cyclopentadien-1-yl)silane is a fluorescent probe that has been used in the study of catalytic reactions. It is synthesized by reacting aminopropylsilane with toluene and ethylene. This compound has been investigated for its ability to catalyze the reaction of zirconium with dilute hydrochloric acid. The average adsorbed amount was found to be 0.039 mmol/g by using the dilution method and spectroscopy.
