Description:
Cyclopropylmethanesulfonyl chloride (CPM) is a chiral compound that is used as a diagnostic agent for sulfide in the diagnosis of inflammatory diseases. The CPM-sulfide complex can be detected by colorimetry or spectrophotometry. CPM has been shown to inhibit the enzyme 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase and cycloalkyl groups, which are involved in the synthesis of cortisol. The stereoisomers of this compound have been shown to inhibit mammalian cells.
