Cycloheptylamine is a compound that belongs to the group of amines. It has been used as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) sample preparation agent in asymmetric synthesis because it contains nitrogen atoms and fatty acid groups. Cycloheptylamine has also been shown to inhibit the activities of a number of enzymes, such as acetylcholinesterase and monoamine oxidase, which are responsible for enzyme inhibitors. Cycloheptylamine has been studied for its effects on rat liver microsomes and molecular docking analysis.
