2-Carboxyarabinitol 1,5-diphosphate (2CADP) is a nucleotide that is involved in the regulation of transcription. It is synthesized from arabinitol and ATP by the enzyme arabinitol 1,5-diphosphate 5'-phosphotransferase. 2CADP has been shown to inhibit transcription by binding to the polymerase chain and preventing it from transcribing DNA into RNA. It has been shown to have a major role in regulating calcium levels, which are important for the normal functioning of cells. 2CADP has also been shown to inhibit several enzymes involved in infectious diseases such as Coxiella burnetii, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The inhibition of these enzymes prevents their growth or replication.
