Product Information

Name:
4-Chlorocyclohexan-1-ol, mixture of diastereomers
Synonyms:
  • 1-Chloro-4-Hydroxycyclohexane
Description:

4-Chlorocyclohexan-1-ol is a monosubstituted cyclohexane ring that has been used as an additive in wastewater treatment. It enhances the chloride ion reactivity with the carbon source and hydrogen chloride, which results in a high reaction rate of the chlorine atom with the substrate. 4-Chlorocyclohexan-1-ol is also used to prepare chlorinated cycloalkanes by cross-coupling reactions. The sequences of these reactions are determined by the substitution pattern on the cyclohexane ring.
