Description:

2-Chloro-6-iodopyrazine (2CI) is a pyrazine compound that has been shown to be an effective electron donor in cross-coupling reactions with copper. 2CI can be used to generate conjugated compounds by coupling with benzaldehyde, which can then be functionalized with electrophiles or nucleophiles. 2CI has been found to emit light when excited by electron transfer and has a strong absorption band at 635 nm. The emission spectrum of 2CI consists of two bands: one at 575 nm and the other at 635 nm. The wavelengths of these two bands are similar to those found in the emission spectra of some organic dyes that have been used for biological applications.
