CDC25 phosphatase inhibitor is a chemical inhibitor that inhibits the activity of CDC25, an enzyme that phosphorylates and inactivates cyclin-dependent kinases. It has been shown to inhibit cell growth in leukemia cells (HL60) and other types of cancer cells. The anticancer activity of this drug is due to its ability to induce tumor cell apoptosis by activating mitochondrial-dependent apoptosis. This drug also inhibits the expression of toll-like receptor 4, which may be involved in the activation of immune response. CDC25 phosphatase inhibitor is active against some bacterial strains such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but not against Escherichia coli or Staphylococcus aureus.
